Apollo Munich health insurance is a standalone health insurance company providing health insurance solutions in India. The Company was previously known as Apollo DKV Health Insurance Company. It offers wide range of individual products. Products are offered individually and also as family floater plans. The Apollo Health Insurance plans are unique as they offer life time renewability, no co-pays, no sub-limits on room rent and also premiums are not loaded after claim experience of the policy holder. Apollo belongs to Apollo Hospitals, Asia's largest healthcare providers, therefore the tag line of the company is "We know health care, we know health insurance".
Apollo Plans offer 10% family discount on premium if 3 or more persons are covered under the same policy in family floater. One can pay premiums for 2 years and get discount of 7.5% on the total premium. It also allows 15 days grace period for renewal premium payment.

1) Easy Health Individual Plan:
Easy Health plan is basic mediclaim plan and is available both as individual plan and also as family floater. The plan is available in three variants - Standard, Exclusive and Premium. The minimum cover in standard plan is 1 lakh and maximum is Rs. 5 lakhs. The minimum cover in exclusive plan is 3 lakhs and maximum is Rs. 7.5 lakhs. The minimum cover in Premium plan is 4 lakhs and maximum is Rs. 10 lakhs. Exclusive additionally cover maternity expenses over and above standard product. Whereas Premium additionally covers dental and spectacles, contact lenses and hearing aids and also offers e-opinion in respect of critical illness.
2) Optima Plus Plan:
Optima plus is a top up health insurance plan. These plans cover the expenses only if the total expenses exceed a pre-specified threshold limit (deductible). The plan is available only as individual and for fixed 5 lakhs sum assured with deductible of 1 to 5 lakhs. The premium of this plan is relatively cheap. One should buy a top-up plan with a deductible equal to the cover of your basic health plan. This plan can help when there are major hospitalization expenses arising out of critical illness or major accident.
3) Optima Restore Plan:
Apollo Munich Health Insurance has a unique health/mediclaim plan with restore benefit. This restore benefit will automatically reinstate the basic sum assured in case it is exhausted during the policy term. The benefit to restore the sum assured will be given free of any additional cost. Definitely the premium will be higher compared to normal mediclaim plans. You are eligible to claim restore benefit only after the basic sum assured inclusive of bonuses are fully utilised in that year. The plan is available as individual as well as family floater. The sum assured offered in the plans are 3,5,10 and 15 lakhs in both the category. Interestingly plan has also come with never before renewal incentive in case of claim free year. The basic sum assured will increase by 50% in 1st claim free year and 100% in 2nd claim free year.
4) Individual Personal Accident Insurance Plan:
Apollo Munich also offers personal accident insurance plan. The plan is available in two variants. Standard Variant and Premium Variant. Plan offers maximum cover up to 5 crores for accidental death benefit and Rs. 15 lakhs for temporary total disablement. The basic sum assured is limited to 10 times of annual income and temporary total disablement is limited to two times of annual income and subject to above maximum limit. One can also add family members under the same policy. Maximum sum assured for adult dependent is restricted to 50% of the proposers sum assured subject to maximum of Rs. 50 lakhs. Maximum sum assured for child dependent is restricted to 25% of the proposers sum assured subject to maximum of Rs. 10 lakhs.
Features: Newborn Baby - Optional, Critical Illness - Optional, 50% or 100% of Sum Insured.
General Exclusions: Expenses arising from HIV or AIDS and related diseases. Non Allopathic treatment, congenital diseases, mental disorder or insanity, cosmetic surgery and weight control treatments. Abuse of intoxicant or hallucinogenic substances like drugs and alcohol. Hospitalization due to war or an act of war or due to a nuclear, chemical or biological weapon and radiation of any kind. Pregnancy, dental and external aids and appliances unless covered under the specific Easy Health Individual Insurance Plan mentioned above. Items of personal comfort and convenience.
