02 Jul 2008

The Indian investors on mutual funds have increased considerable over the past three years. But know these investors are having a hard time. Because of the steady market melt down in the stock market the NAVs offered by Indian mutual fund are trading at their one-year low. The average return across various equity schemes has already entered the negative zone.

As on June 30, 2008, the NAVs of nearly 80% of the 300-odd equity schemes are at their 52-week low levels. This means that those investors who have invested in these schemes during the past 6-8 months have suffered heavy losses. The mutual funds do not guarantee positive returns.
