If the post office RDA is still operating i.e. current; withdrawal is permitted if the following three conditions are satisfied:
The account has accumulated fifty per cent of the deposits
The account has been in operation for at least one year
At least twelve monthly deposits have been made in the account
If the repayment is desired in one lump sum, interest at the rate specified is calculated on the withdrawal amount for all the calendar months - from the month of withdrawal to the month of repayment.
On withdrawing from the account, if the withdrawn amount or part of it has not been repaid, or if the interest has not been paid before the account closure, the outstanding amount due will be recovered from the amount payable to the depositor/nominee/legal heir on closing the account.
