premium car segment is hotting up after Honda Siel Cars India (HSCI) marked
down the price of Civic with the launch of a new variant.
The competition in the fast-growing C segment is set to intensify with the new Toyota Corolla on its way. Add to the fact that Hyundai is planning to launch Elantra's replacement and Volkswagen is all set to debut its Jetta sedan in August.
Honda's new stripped down Civic 1.8 litre Executive variant comes at Rs. 10.80 lakh, dearer by Rs. 1 lakh compared to other variants.
Corolla, with basic designing from Camry, will come both in 1.8 litre diesel and 1.6 litre petrol power trains in the next two months.
Motor India (HMI) is firming up its plans to launch its premium sedan Avante in
next few months.
Volkswagen's Jetta will come in both 1.9 litre diesel and 1.6 litre petrol editions.
The premium car market has shown consistent growth in the last fiscal with the total sales reaching 42,181 units.
