The small, 1-lakh rupees car from Tata's stable
that created big news in Indian automobile industry will be launched next year,
said Tata Motors managing director, Ravi Kant, on the sidelines of the SIAM's
(Society of Indian Automobile Manufacturer) Annual
Ravi Kant, however, acknowledged that higher production costs may make it difficult to stick to the targeted price of Rs 1 lakh. He also pointed out that steel and rubber prices have risen sharply in the past three years since company chairman Ratan Tata first announced an Rs1 lakh car.
When asked whether the price will be revised, Kant told reporters to wait for the launch.
