Date : 1 Mar, 2009 Question Hi, I brought a used car honda city last september 2008 for with a loan from hdfc bac at 17 % and i want to know if i cna switch my loan in the current situation. the bank is charging a fee of 5 % of outstanding principal when switching after 6 months. Answer You cannot transfer your loan to another bank. You will have to close the loan and take another loan from another bank that offers you a lower interest rate. As you are aware that the bank will charge you a prepayment penalty for prepaying the loan, also you will have to pay a processing fee for the new loan. You can apply for a car loan on apnaloan where multiple banks compete for your loan. |
