Date : 29 May, 2009 Question Hi sir, I am an existing cal loan customer from HDFC bank. I had taken a loan on 14.25% rate. Now interest rate are less. I want to avail this less rate on my loan. What should I do? Can I take a loan again from other bank on less interest rate, and pay outstanding amount to HDFC bank? Answer You can transfer your car loan to another bank but the bank might consider it as a used car loan and charge you higher interest rate. Also you might want to consider the prepayment penalty to be paid to your existing lender and the processing fee to be paid to the new lender. So it is advisible to stick to your existing lender only. |
