Date : 13 Mar, 2009 Question I have around 7 years of exp. in HR in India and UAE, I holds a bachelor degree in Science and a Post graduate diploma in Management, I have secured admission in UK- university of central Lancashire for Masters of Science- Human Resource Management, I have my savings equivalent to the course fee of 8000 Pounds but would still require the living expenses to stay and to to show the university, its a 1 year course-I have Some shares whiich are a currently- 1,60,000 INR, mutual funds- around 50,000 INR currently, Life insurance (LIC) INR 8194/ quarter from June 2005 and is active, and ICICI prudential Life insurance policy- fund of about 50,000 INR currently. My question- I wish to take a Education loan, these are the only above documents I can show as my asset, I m presently working in Dubai on work visa and will come back to india for securing Loan. How much amount of Education Loan is easier for me to secure without any collateral? lets say if I wish to take only 3 lakhs... or max 4 lakhs... without any guarantor.. Answer
You need to have a guarantor for the education loan to be sanctioned. If you fail or are incapable of repaying the student loan, the guarantor will have to clear the debt. Usually, most banks require the guarantor to have a net worth and/ or annual income equivalent or more than the education loan amount. For more
