I already have a medical policy with XYZ Insurance for the past four years. If I enroll today with another company, will I get continuous cover or will the cover start afresh?

If you already have an existing health insurance policy, it will pay to stick to it rather than change. Find out why.

If you have an existing health insurance policy, it is a no-brainer: stick to the insurer and ensure that you renew your policy at the appropriate time, without fail. This allows you to be eligible for bonus claims in the event of claims-free years as well as pre-existing disease benefits.

A new policy with another company would mean that your counter is reset at zero and you will have to start fresh. Also, remember that your health insurance premiums go up as you grow older.
