Question

What should be considered while switching funds of ULIP

Answer

It is a very subjective question. Switching will be in two ways either moving out of equities or moving in equities.

Moving out of equities is when you think the market has peaked and now it is time for you to capture the gains made by you in the equity markets.

Secondly, moving in equities is when you think that market has bottomed out and now moving below this point is not likely to happen. That is the right to enter the equity markets.

Third and the most important is that you should start moving out of equities once you are reaching the point when you would be needing the money. Just for example you need the money from 1 year from now. So you should start moving out of risky investments and try to be in safe instruments.
