Interest rates on education loan rates have been slashed by 50 basis points.

Interest rates on educational loan have been slashed by 50 basis points from 12.50 per cent to 12 per cent for male students. IIT and IIM students will get loans at 11.50 per cent.

Interest rates on study loans for female students have been cut to 11.5 per cent from 12 per cent for female students. Students having admissions in IIT and IIM can get loans at 11 per cent.

For students belonging to the Scheduled Caste (SC), Scheduled Tribe (ST) and minority students, the interest rate is 11 per cent for male/female students for all courses including IIT/IIM studies.
