It is good news for professionals and corporates who wanted an MBA but could not due to the lack of sufficient seats, high costs and time constraints of classroom coaching. You can learn it online. Online Management Development Programmes (MDPs) are becoming very popular among professionals as is with online education players with the estimated market of online MDPs tallying at Rs 400-500 crore.

These 24/7 programmes are further mooted by the 350 per cent growth sensed this year. Bangalore-based online education firms now plan to target individuals in smaller towns. Premier institutes such as IIM-C, IIT-D, MDI Gurgaon also have decided to join the webbing community and have increased the options of programmes offered.

IIT-D online MDPs have registered success, with over 1,500 individuals enrolling for three of its courses supply chain management, finance for non-finance professionals, and international finance. IIFT Delhi also plans to offer an online MDP programme, in association with Macmillan India.

Analysts are of the opinion that campus learning is limiting the student base and the ability to reach out to far-flung areas and technology seems to be the only medium available which could provide immediate access.

Macmillan India has tied up with four premier educational institutions for online courses on refinance for non-finance professionals, corporate finance, supply chain management, customer relationship management, international finance, getting started on export-import trade.
